Hi
everyone! I’m Mia. Welcome to my personal blog. In this post, I want to review
a makeup remover product from garnier. I purchase this product from local
convenience shop for IDR 38000 and already purchase twice. So, that’s why I
want to make a product review.
To be
honest, I don’t like the pink bottle because it makes my skin feels itchy and
not really like the fragrance. So, I decide to buy this product because the
label claims it works for those who have oily and acne prone skin. I think the
formulation is slightly different than the pink bottle or original version.
When I look at the ingredients list, this product still contains alcohol denat
or alcohol that can make your skin dry and irritated. But, this product doesn’t
contains fragrance like the other bottle.
This
product helps to remove point makeup, but it doesn’t remove all makeup. So, I
can still see the makeup residue left on my skin. I pour the micellar water
onto cotton pads and gently remove makeup on my face, so no need to rubbing the
skin harshly. When I use this product, the micellar water make my skin feel
more watery and slowly dry. It doesn’t sting my eyes, but I still get ithyness
when apply on my skin. The directions said that no need to rinse after use this
product, but I still use facial cleanser and toner to remove all makeup from my
skin.
I don’t use
waterproof makeup because it can leave makeup residue that not easy to remove
from my skin. So, it can cause skin irritation when remove makeup. There is
also other version which contains oils that helps to remove makeup. I just like
this product can be purchase from local convenience shop and works really nice
to remove eye and lip makeup. It is like an eye and lip makeup remover, but the
formulation is slightly different. This product contains poloxamer 184 which
helps to remove makeup, so that’s why it is said micellar water.
I’ve seen a
lot micellar water product from us and uk brands. There are also korean
cosmetic brands who also launch their own version. Then, I’ve notice a lot drugstore
brands launch micellar water products. So, it is not something new for me
because I already know about it. I’ve try some korean products, but it cost
more money than drugstore products because I need to pay shipping fee, commission fee, bank charges, tax fee, etc.
In the past, I like to buy products from online shop who order korean products
directly from Seoul, South Korea. So, the products are authentic or original.
They also provide new and best seller products that ship directly from Korea.

What is micellar water?
Micellar water, also frequently called cleansing water, is a cleanser that help remove oils, dirt, and makeup from your skin. Micellar water is made up of micelles (tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules) suspended in soft water. The micelles are little balls of oil that attract debris, excessive skin oil, and makeup. So, the micelles are able to draw out impurities without drying out the skin.
The way micellar water works is that a mild surfactant, the chemical that actually gets rid of dirt and makeup, clusters up into tiny balls called micelles. Once you pour it onto a cotton round, the micelles rearrange themselves for optimal cleansing.Unlike a typical cleanser, you don’t have to rinse it off. Micellar water is much more cleansing and hydrating when compared to foamy soap or alcohol-based cleansers that can dry the skin.

These are pros and cons use Garnier Micellar water based on my personal experience.
Pros:
- It helps to remove makeup, oil, and dirts. It makes my skin feels more clean and fresh.
- It doesn't make my skin feels dry after use micellar water. My skin feels more hydrating and clean without an obvious residue.
- It’s gentle on the skin. I still not experience skin irritation after use this product. Although, this product contains alcohol. But, it doesn't make my skin feels dry and irritated. Obviously read the ingredients first and try products for patch test. If you experience skin irritation, then you must stop use product and consult with dermatologist.
Cons:
- You have to use it with cotton pads, which adds some extra expense and makes it less convenient.
- It doesn't remove all makeup, especially stubborn makeup from surface of the skin. When I wipe off makeup, makeup residue still left on the skin. After few wipes, then I can remove more makeup from my skin.
- I still need to use facial cleanser. Although on the bottle said no need rinse after use the product, but I still think my skin not clean enough. I can see makeup residue, oil, and dirt left on the skin. So, that's why I use facial cleanser to remove all impurities thoroughly.
